Oh, skeptics, I feel your pain, I really do! I’ve said time and time again that if I hadn’t tried some of these products I would have a hard time believing they actually work. I mean, I’ve personally tried A LOT of products that didn’t live up to the hype. That said, I hope this article helps slow down the steady stream of emails I get asking basically the same thing. So, does NoNo actually work? As a matter of fact, it does 🙂
What Do You Even Mean?
Ok, so “Does NoNo work?” can mean a number of things, so before I even begin let me give a quick rundown of what it does. Take a good look at this list- it’s what I mean when I tell you that it works:
● It removes up to 94% of hair.
● It keeps the skin smooth and hairless for about 2 months between treatments.
● It’s incredibly easy to use.
● It’s painless and completely safe.
● It can be used by anybody!
Before you ask again, yes, I mean it really does all of that!
Okay, Then HOW Does NoNo Work?
The process is actually very similar to what they do in clinics with lasers, and what we’re starting to see more of in home light-based hair removal, except that it uses heat instead of light. The heat travels through the hair into the follicle and basically confuses the root, slowing it way, waaaay down until the hair grows back at a tiny fraction of its usual rate.
It sounds complicated, but all you need to do on your end is roll the No No along the skin, and the Thermicon tip will take care of UP TO 94% OF UNWANTED BODY HAIR!
This is probably a good spot to point out that there is some confusion about the NoNo, since there’s actually an old version, the No No Classic, and the newer, improved No No 8800. The older one was alright, but frankly didn’t really deliver. Thankfully, the responded to criticism and created the newer one which directly addressed the problems of the old. If you’re reading reviews and it doesn’t mention which No No, keep in mind that it was the older model that performed kind of poorly with consumers.
So Here’s My Story
When I first got the No No, I used it a few times a week, as recommended. It took about 45 minutes to do my legs and bikini line, and at first I thought, “Well, this certainly isn’t more convenient than shaving!”
The thing is, the treatments are cumulative. The longer you use it, the better your results will be, and you’ll find, like I did, that you have to use it less and less. I had about 80% hair reduction by week 7, and the hair was coming in more and more slowly.
It takes about 4-8 weeks to start seeing the real, lasting results of the No No, at which point you can slow your treatments down because it can take months for the hair to come back!
And It Works For EVERYBODY!
One of the things that sets the No No apart from competitors like the SensEpil or Tria is that because it uses heat instead of light, it doesn’t have the same problems the other guys do. Specifically, I mean that while you can’t use a laser on very dark skin or very light hair, the NoNo works for everybody!
The downside is that while the No No’s results last for months, months aren’t quite as long as the “forever” results of laser or pulsed light treatments. I imagine this problem will be solved relatively soon, but until then the No No is a great intermediate measure.
So, does NoNo actually work? If you mean does it remove hair for long periods of time, and do safely, easily, and painlessly, than the answer is a resounding yes!
